Ocean Knoll Parent Teacher Association
The Ocean Knoll Parent Teacher Association is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) made up of committed parents, guardians, and teachers. Our mission is to bring families, the school, and the community together to positively impact the lives of everyone at Ocean Knoll. The PTA provides events, activities and special programs that make this an outstanding school. We also raise funds to help meet school needs that are outside the scope of the school's budget—everything from grade-specific enrichment resources to updating technology and community programs.

WHY DOES THE PTA NEED TO FUNDRAISE?
Public school funding covers the basics, but it doesn’t cover everything that makes the Ocean Knoll experience so special. PTA fundraising helps bridge that gap by funding additional staff, programs, resources, and experiences that enrich learning for every student at Ocean Knoll.
Through fundraisers like our Pledge Drive, Jog-a-Thon, Spring Gala, restaurant nights, and other community partnerships, our families help make so much more possible. Every donation—big or small—adds up and makes a meaningful difference for our school.
WHERE DOES THE MONEY GO?
A lot! PTA funds directly support the people and programs that make Ocean Knoll unique. This includes our Garden/Nutrition Aides, Farm Aide, Kindergarten Aide, as well as support for our Garden/Nutrition enrichment teacher and IB program.
PTA also provides classroom and teacher grants, grade-level funding, educational materials, field trip support, Accelerated Reader, Student Council, campus improvements, staff appreciation, and more.
Our goal is simple: to give our teachers and staff additional resources and support so they can continue creating an exceptional learning environment for our kids.
WHAT ABOUT FUN THINGS?
We believe school should be a place where kids—and families—feel connected and have fun, too! PTA helps bring our community together throughout the year with events like Fiesta, Jog-a-Thon, Zero-Waste Festival, Talent Show, Dol-Fun Day, Open House & Art Show, the 5th/6th Grade Dance, and other special activities and community events.
These traditions give our kids the chance to make memories outside the classroom while giving Ocean Knoll families opportunities to connect, volunteer, and be part of our school community.
BUT SCHOOL IS FOR LEARNING!
Absolutely—and supporting learning is at the heart of what we do. In addition to supporting teachers in their classrooms, PTA funds grade-level and school-wide academic grants, Accelerated Reader, the Literati Book Fair, Math 24, Art Education, educational assemblies, books, learning materials, and other enrichment opportunities.
PTA also invests in some of the programs that define an Ocean Knoll education, including our International Baccalaureate (IB) program, Children's Farm, and Garden & Nutrition program, helping provide hands-on learning experiences that extend well beyond the traditional classroom. Ocean Knoll's IB Primary Years Program emphasizes inquiry, critical thinking, research, communication, and community service.
WE BELIEVE IN TAKING CARE OF OUR COMMUNITY.
Being part of Ocean Knoll means taking care of one another. Throughout the year, PTA supports efforts that help ensure all Ocean Knoll students and families can participate and feel included.
This includes scholarships for experiences like 6th Grade Camp and the Star of India field trip, our Thanksgiving Food Drive, Waves of Kindness/Adopt-a-Family, and other outreach efforts supporting Ocean Knoll families in need.
